Reiki practitioners can open a whole new world of healing by combining sound with Reiki. Commercially recorded “ambient” music can inadvertently disturb or block the flow of Reiki, while well-intentioned but uninformed use of a singing bowl during a session can also have adverse effects.
Reiki Sound is a full-day introduction to the impact, benefits, and effective application of sound — recorded or natural — during a Reiki session. Participants will receive a certificate of completion.
Material includes fascinating science, an enlightening look at history, technical instruction, and plenty of exciting practice and experiment time with vocal toning, singing bowls, tuning forks, rainsticks, and more.
A selection of singing bowls will be available for sale, or participants may bring their own bowl to use.
NOTE: PRIVATE ReikiSound Healing Sessions with Natalie Bliss available by appointment 4/1. Contact Rickie to schedule.
“I utilize my ReikiSound as a Perfect blend with my Reiki work (as well as my own self-healing). I listen to the body and energy and choose the vibrations to facilitate deeper healing. My personal favorite are the Crystal bowls each tuned to a particular Chakra frequency, and using my voice with gentle toning and humming.” Rickie Meryl Freedman
From The Healing Power of Sound by Mitchell L. Gaynor, MD:
“Sound waves are yet another form of energy that can conceivably influence neuropeptides and their cellular receptors. And if we recognize that our own biological healing systems are influenced by energy fields, we can begin to understand why sound and vibration are important new tools for healing.”
A graduate of the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Natalie Bliss, PhD.SH, has been practicing and experiencing the benefits of therapeutic sound for over 40 years, beginning with cello and chanting, and eventually continuing her education in sound healing and energy medicine from Lana Ryder, Kathleen Baker, John Beaulieu, Donna Eden, and others. Ordained as a Doctor of Spiritual Healing by the Universal Ministries School of Theology in 2012, she founded Stress Management Consulting in Philadelphia, where she currently consults and teaches independently. Natalie is a member of the International Sound Therapy Association and the Sound Healers Association and is board-certified as a Holistic Healer by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.
