Many of us suffer with pain and dysfunction caused by injury, surgery, illness, congenital conditions, or psychological/emotional states. Standard medical care often uses pharmaceuticals or even surgery to help, but pharmaceuticals and surgery may come with unwelcome or dangerous side effects. There are an increasing number of individuals turning to CranioSacral Therapy and SomatoEmotional Release as a successful means to assist and treat their pain and dysfunction.
Join Rachel Benbow, LMT, MLIS, as she talks about how CranioSacral Therapy (CST) and SomatoEmotional Release (SER) may benefit you with your physical and psychological/emotional pain and dysfunction. CST is a gentle, non-invasive manual therapy that releases tensions deep in the body, improving whole-body health and performance. SER facilitates recovery from psychological and emotional traumas by unlocking where those traumas physically lodge themselves within the body. Both CST and SER address each person as a unique whole. Ms. Benbow will explain how CST and SER work, and how they can be used with various conditions.
Rachel Benbow, LMT, MLIS, is a Licensed Massage Therapist, CranioSacral Therapist and Reiki Master. She is the Grand Prize Gold Award Winner of the 2015 Massage Therapy Foundation Case Report Contest. She has presented her research at the 2016 International Massage Therapy Research Conference, and expects to soon have her case report, “Effect of Massage Therapy on the Proprioceptive System of an Autistic Child,” published in a peer-reviewed journal. She is also the recipient of the 2014 American Massage Therapy Association Scholarship. Ms. Benbow has her own private practice in Harrisburg, PA.
