Come and take your seat in an ancient circle.  Listen!  You can hear the call of the sacred drum!  The drum is the sound of creation!

Come and learn about the symbolism and history of the frame drum (particularly as it relates to women and the Goddess) and its use as a technology for ritual, prayer, earth connection, healing, and community building. Learn how to hold the drum, play the elemental strokes, and entrain in some basic rhythm patterns.  Some guided meditation, Qi Gong energy work, and gentle stretching will be included.

Absolutely NO prior experience is necessary.  If you have a frame drum, please bring it.   If you don’t have a frame drum but you have a medicine drum or any hand drum feel  free to bring them along.  We may have extra frame drums to borrow if you don’t have one.

Once you are registered, more details about preparing for the event and what to bring with you will be forwarded to you.  Limited to first 12 participants! Bring a Friend Discount $5.00 off! Code is friend

Lori Sweet has spent her working life in the helping professions as a social worker, teacher, workshop leader, wellness coach, Reflexologist, ritual maker, and an artist who uses art to inspire and to heal.
Over the past three years, Lori has been studying the frame drum and incorporating sound and percussion rhythm practices into ritual, prayer, and meditation.  She has been inspired by the work of the late drummer, Layne Redmond, who she met and took a workshop with 25 years ago in California. Lori has taken several classes from some of Layne’s living students, Miranda Rondeau, Krista Holland, and Barbara Gail.   Lori also studies under Alexandra Jai from Rhythm Bliss and just completed Remo Drum’s HealthRHYTHMS certification training with Christine Stevens, a music therapist and social worker who uses drumming for health and healing.
