If you’ve always wanted to be a published author or find yourself drawn to sharing your Reiki experiences through writing—now is your time!
Reiki is a universal life-force energy, and its power affects us all differently on very personal levels. Do you have a Reiki story to share? How has Reiki changed, impacted or saved YOUR life? We’re looking for unique, Reiki-centered stories from authors in the following categories:
First Experiences of Reiki
Reiki for Kids
Reiki for Teens
Reiki Myths and Misconceptions
Reiki in Business
Healing Grief and Trauma with Reiki
Each section of the book will be accompanied by an introduction and further explanation of that specific topic of Reiki written by internationally acclaimed author, Rickie Freedman.
This is will be the first book of its kind ever published—a book centered on Reiki healing with a “Chicken Soup for the Soul” type structure. The goal of “Radiating Our Reiki Light” is to include stories that will be infused with the Energy and Healing of Reiki.
About the Author:
Rickie Freedman is a Reiki Master/Teacher, PT, and Certified Holistic Wellness Coach. Her focus is the integration of complimentary wellness with traditional healthcare. Rickie teaches all levels of Reiki classes including “Reiki for Healthcare Professionals”, her trademarked “ReikiKids” class, and conducts numerous workshops including “Stress Management and Reiki”, “Power of a Positive Attitude”, “Choosing Peace in Challenging Times”, “Follow your Heart, AND do it Smart!”, and “Chakra Healing and Balancing”. Rickie is a speaker and author, and facilitates Wellness events and Holistic Travels (“Healing Water Holistic Cruises” and Sedona AZ).
Rickie offers “Follow your Heart AND Do it Smart!!” Mentoring and Coaching for Healthcare Professionals, Holistic Healers, and Small Business Owners who desire to keep Heart and Service first.
Rickie brings a positive, joyous, loving attitude, and a calming energy to all her work, and she’s thrilled to extend this opportunity for a collection of contributing authors to join her in her latest book.

Your Author Commitment
Write a 1,000 word story about your unique experience with Reiki as a client, student, practitioner, or teacher (slightly longer submissions will be accepted but may be edited)
Provide a short 100 word bio and website if applicable
Join the FB contributors group ( Radiating our Reiki Light Facebook group) and assist with launch day planning, creating buzz, and providing one unique giveaway or service for the launch.
A contributing fee of $125 (a second or third submission will be discounted to $100)

“Radiating Our Reiki Light” Mission Statement
Sharing Reiki Healing Energy and education through authentic stories of Reiki experiences so that every book will be infused with the intention of Reiki healing for the reader.
Each additional story entry will be a discounted to $100 after the first story.
Writing the story:
We want this collection to be personal, so imagine writing as if you’re telling your story to a close friend. The article should be centered on Reiki (not about crystals, religion, oils, shamanic healing, or angel messages- or Rickie or ReikiSpace), and be written from the first-person point of view. An example of this, and a writing coach (for an additional fee) for your article is available upon request.
12pt, Times New Roman Font. Please send your completed story as a Word.doc or Word.docx file. No PDFs please.
1,000 word suggested limit. Submissions can be up to 1,500 words but will be trimmed as needed.
All stories are due by August 1, 2022.
We reserve the right to refund any story fee whose submission does not align with our mission statement for the book. We will let you know within 1-2 weeks of your submittal if your story is accepted for publication.
We ask that this is an original and unpublished story that you submit to us.
Read and sign the Author Acceptance Agreement (one will be sent upon acceptance of your article)
If your story is selected for publication, we will be working with you to developmentally edit the work. Developmental Edits will include trimming the word count as needed, identifying strengths in writing as well as where more information might be needed from you the author. We will send you a copy of your article with our suggested edits for your review and completion.
We reserve the right to determine the best category for your story (The categories will ultimately become the book Chapters)
All final author edits need to be received by October 1, 2022.
Once final author edits are received, we will begin editing the entire collection for grammar, consistency, tense shifts, and punctuation. This edit is done by a professional Copy Editor and does not require your final approval of changes.
We will keep you updated on the book’s final publishing process through the group’s VIP Contributor FB page.
Include the title of your submission and your name as you would like it to appear in print as the subject line. (Example: Reiki Teen Transformation by Rickie Freedman) If no title has been chosen for your story yet, please include the category which best fits your story. Categories for submissions are below. If your story fits into multiple categories we will choose the section we feel it will best fit into the book.
